PTSA 2011-2012 Information
Dear Signature Friends and Families,
Signature School’s PTSA is preparing for another fantastic year! We are enthusiastically asking for your support by joining our membership and becoming actively involved in your child’s educational experience. The PTSA provided significant support to Signature students, staff and families last year. Last year, the PTSA:
· Provided the staff with a Back-to-School Breakfast, monthly snacks for staff meetings and Teacher Appreciation Week snacks and luncheon;
· Purchased 2 fully loaded multi-media carts, used daily;
· Purchased a portable PA system;
· Created and sold Student Directories;
· Created and funded the “Scholar Shop” to help students of financial need pay for graduation wear, AP/IB testing and other school-related needs;
· Created “Lunch with the Pros” to give students an opportunity to speak with professionals in areas of interest;
· Maintained an ongoing Teacher Wish List for much needed school supplies;
· Held our 1st Annual International Week with theme days and treats for students, topped off with our 1st Annual International Dinner, with over 190 Signature students, staff and families attending;
· Purchased and sold Signature Spirit Wear to encourage school pride and spirit;
· Paid for the professional cleaning of the Science Building basement;
· Sponsored a Staff Holiday Dinner;
· Wrote a grant for renovation of the Science Building Commons Area;
· Wrote and received a grant from the Women’s Club of Newburgh for the newly created “Scholar Shop”;
· Held a “Scrap for Signature” scrapbooking fundraiser;
· Sponsored 2 raffles at Signature School events;
· Held a “Drive One 4UR School” Event with D-Patrick Ford, raising $4,000;
· Funded and helped organize the Seniors’ Honor Reception, Guest Reception and Seniors' Luncheon;
· Provided a framed “Signature Class of 2011” photo to each graduate during the Senior Luncheon;
· Provided end-of-year “Thank you” baskets with gifts cards to teachers/staff;
· And more….
None of the above would have been possible without the efforts of our many volunteers. To those who supported us in so many ways last year, WE THANK YOU! When there aren’t enough volunteers, PTSA programs suffer. Please join, get involved, and help us provide our students and staff with the support they deserve. All forms are conveniently linked below. Few volunteer positions require ongoing involvement; most have only a single or seasonal duty. If you are uncertain where your time and skills will best fit, please call or email one of the officers below.
