This spring, Shannon Hughes’s geometry classes surveyed freshman and sophomore students on their favorite lunch destinations and their district schools that they would attend if not for Sig. Below are the classes’ findings.
 (Cassie White)
Brennan Downs surveyed freshmen’s favorite places to get lunch with a group of other freshman geometry students. He explains that his group “posed [their questions] to freshmen at random throughout the day.” Their “results were marked on small ballots and then tallied.” A summary of their results is presented in the graph above.
 (Andrew Campbell)
Alex Hughes describes his group’s project, saying that “as a group, [they] surveyed all sophomore students on what their favorite place is to get food for lunch. [Their] results showed that most students enjoyed Angelo’s and Sixth Street Deli more than any other restaurants.” Group member Andrew Campbell adds that students “had fun getting this opportunity to administer this survey and learning yet another thing about [their] unique sophomore class.”
 (Briana Pfettscher)
Briana Pfettscher describes her group’s task, saying that they “surveyed the sophomores attending Signature School… with the question ‘If Signature School did not exist which high school would you attend?’” Alison Petrash adds that “this survey was significant because it reveals the importance of the existence of Signature School. Without Signature, most sophomores would not be able to choose which high school they would attend due to geographical limitations.”
Springtime marks growth and change. These surveys from Hughes’ classes are an interesting evaluation of ninth and tenth graders as they prepare to become sophomores and juniors.
