Can't get out of town for Spring Break? Spring Break, March 21-March 28, is just around the corner and there are plenty of fun activities to do locally. Here are some ideas of things to do and places to hang out around town:
- Movies are an alternative "form of vacationing. I love movies," says Kolin Rubel. 21, a film about six MIT students who became experts in card counting and went to Vegas to "beat the house," and Run Fatboy Run, a movie about an overweight man who tries to win back the woman of his dreams by running a marathon directed by David Schwimmer, are coming out March 28, 2008.
- Bowling is "kind of like seventies vinyl. That's what comes to mind when I think of bowling," in the words of Clayton Brown. This vintage activity can be enjoyed at either Willow Lanes on E. Michigan Street, Arc Lanes on Washington Avenue, or Diamond Lanes on Diamond Avenue.
- Carrie Underwood will be performing at Roberts Stadium on March 26th. Ticket prices range from $36.75 - $46.75.
- Bloomington, Indiana always offers an amazing array of shops and eateries to hang out in, and it's only two hours away!
- The East Side Cold Stone Creamery is donating 25% of profit made on March 27, 2008 from 4-8 in the evening to Easter Seals. Shanti Knight says, "Their french toast ice cream is so yummy!" Hannah Fox agrees, "[Cold Stone's ice cream] is worth every one of the four dollars I have to shell out for it."
Fun is not confined to an island location. There are lots of ways to enjoy Spring Break, in the local area. Just heed Ms. Knight's axiom, and "make good choices!"
