Ways to Make Second Semester Better Than First?

by: Jarred Morris

There are many improvements students can do to help make second semester better. An idea that can make second semester better is setting goals to get better grades. Juniors' second semester is very crucial because it is the last semester on their transcript that colleges look at.

Setting goals to get better grades is a very important goal. Junior Callie Schmidt says, "I am going to do my homework in advance, and not procrastinate". Junior Matt Winenger says, "I am going to stop procrastinating, and set my priorities straight." Some tips that Matt Wineger offers for a better second semester is to "start homework as soon as possible and do an hour each night to have it completed for the next day." Junior Katie Ellert says, "Don't make the same mistakes that you did first semester."

Callie Schmidt wants to do better this semester because it makes it easier on everyone to get homework done on time. Matt Wineger wants to do better this semester because he wants to prove to colleges that he is a good student.

Procrastination is a bad habit because you can get really behind in a class and possibly lose your credit for a class. The tips that the students have offered are very good tips to take advantage of. Some tips that I advise for students to do better this semester is to get plenty of sleep before you come into school, eat a good breakfast, and get your homework done on time. If you plan to cut some of those bad habits second semester, you will be a more successful person.
