Saw 4: Do you want to play a game?

by: Brittani Springmeyer

It has been almost a year to the day that the third saw movie had came out. Now, when we thought that the Saw installments were done, Twister Pictures surprised us with yet another Saw. Jigsaw and his evil apprentice, Amanda, have died. After hearing about Kerry's murder, two veteran FBI agents, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, assist Detective Hoffman in sorting out the remains of Jigsaw's last game.

However, according to Lionsgate, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, he has ninety minutes to overcome the tasks once again put out by Jigsaw. In this battle of life and death, Rigg has to also save his old friend (Eric Matthews) before time runs out for the both of them. Detective Matthews was a corrupt police officer who was kidnapped 6 months ago. Matthews was Kerry's partner (who was killed in the third movie) and now that his partner is dead he is destined to find out what happened to her and who is responsible for her death as well as the deaths of many others. Rigg's citywide pursuit leaves behind dead bodies, and Detective Hoffman and the FBI uncover long hidden clues that lead them back to Jigsaw's ex-wife Jill. After talking to Jill, the detectives find out what had caused Jigsaw to go into this killing spree.

With Jigsaw (played by Tobin Bell) dead, we are all wondering who is going to continue with Jigsaw's evil duties. This lingering question is solved in the final minutes of the fourth movie. This show is keeping you on pins and needles literally. If you like gore and scary situations, then this movie are for you. Saw four brings out the fears that we all have inside and it puts them into actions. It puts victims in really life positions that make you think how willing are you to fight for your life when you have to choose.

I personally think that this movie was disappointing in a way. I wanted more information on why he did what he did and I was disappointed with only about 15 minutes of explaining. I was also let down with the lack of reality in this film. I wish that they could have given more. The ending was most disappointing out of all. It leaves you in an extremely confused state Then again, it did answer the questions that I had but they could have done it in more of a descriptive way. I give this movie 2 an a half out of 4 stars.
