Upcoming Pop Culture Summary

With the pressure of average school days, the weekends are the only time to unwind and renew. Some may choose to have a sleepover, go bowling, or to go to the movies. For those who chose to go to the movies, here are some movies that you should be taken into consideration.

Sydney White is a comedy starring Amanda Bynes. Bynes plays a freshman at Southern Atlantic University. After she is sent to pledge her mother's old sorority and surviving the pledge process controlled by evil campus witch Rachel, she realizes that sisterhood isn't what it cracked to be. After she is banished from the Greek Row, she finds herself with a band of seven socially challenged boys. Sydney and the boys take over the student government with the help of a frat boy named Tyler. White tried to fight for the outcasts big and small. This movie is rated PG-13 do to language and partying. Go see it September 21. Hope that one will enjoy it.

December Boys is a drama starring Daniel Radcliffe. The movie is about four orphan teenagers who grew up inside an Austrian convent. The boys had watched the younger orphaned kids being adopted and they began to think that they may never find a loving family. Their "mother" gives the boys some reassurance when she sends them to the seaside for the first times in their lives. Their chaotic getaway makes a turn for the better when they meet Teresa and Fearless, a young couple who they decide would make perfect parents. Years later, once they were grown, they look back at their childhood in the '60s. They began to realize that spending their first summer together by the sea made them think about what the true meaning of being a family is. This movie is rated PG-13 do to underage drinking and smoking. This movie is coming to a theater near you on September 14.

For those who don't want to spend so much money going to the movies, so stay home and just rent some flicks instead, make a night out of it, make some popcorn, invite over some friends and have a blast. Here are some rental possibilities that could create an interesting movie night.

Wild Hogs a comedy starring John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, and William H. Macy. The movie about four middle aged men, who one day decides to take a motorcycle trip to the Pacific, they call themselves the Wild Hogs. Their voyage doesn't go according to plan do to some roughed up motorcycle riders, who call themselves the Del Fuegos.

Instead of worrying about past tests, maybe you should unwind with a movie at the movie theater or just a movie night at your house. Have fun!
